This copy of Kipling's classic collection of short stories was presented as a gift from famed American attorney Clarence Darrow to his son Paul. Paul Darrow [1883-1956] was Darrow's only child and a businessman in Chicago for most of his adult life. The bookplate, designed to resemble his father's, likely pre-dates the ink stamp.
