Hard-to-find collection of animal stories and verses for children illustrated by various artists with three double-page color plates, six single-page color plates, additional plates in black and white, plus black and white illustrations throughout the text. Most of the stories are about dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, but there are also some about farm animals such as sheep, ducks, etc. Red cloth with paper cover label and color illustration mounted on the front cover. Some edgewear and rubbing, mainly some rubthrough to the corners and a short closed tear at the spine head. Good hinges, sound text block with no loosened pages, but binding a little shaken within the covers. Clean pages free from chips, tears, or markings other than a brief inscription on the front free endpaper. Internally very good. Hard Cover. Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
