Er war 1919/1921 Mitarbeiter Majakowskis in der ROSTA, der russischen Telegrafenagentur, für die er u. a. drei der berühmten ROSTAFENSTER entwarf. Seit Gründung des "Krokodils" (1922) gehörte er dessen Mitarbeiterstab an und lieferte der Zeitschrift bis zu seinem Tode mehr als tausend Zeichnungen. Foto: Abbildungen S. 84/85; wie angegeben.

A celebrated work by one of the major propaganda artists of the revolutionary period, produced for the Polish campaign of 1920. Pictured in Stephen White, The Bolshevik Poster, p.98. Rare (only one copy noted at auction in the past 20 years) and a high-spot in the history of revolutionary graphics.
