The plates make…an extraordinary impact, especially as the masks captured legendary figures of the American Revolution in their old age - Jefferson, James and Dolly Madison, John Adams, Lafayette, Gilbert Stuart - as well as notables of the next generations - Martin Van Buren, Henry Clay,DeWitt Clinton, and the actor Edwin Forrest, among others. "Exhibition February 12 to February 24, 1940 under the sponsorship of the New York State Historical Association, Cooperstown, New York." The masks were photographed by Everett L. Millard, a direct descendant of Browere.
