Le local du Patriarcat fut transféré plus tard à Ste. Sophie. Les patriographes racontent que, lorsque Ste. Sophie fut incendiée pendant l'insurrection de Nika en 532, le local du Patriarcat fut transféré à l'église de St. Agathonikos, au nord du Port Sophien (Kadirga), à Kainoupolis et que ce n'est que sous le règne de l'empereur Tibère II (578-582) qu'il fut transféré à Ste.
