Lodewijk (Louis) de Dieu (1590-1642) was a Dutch Protestant minister. A brilliant linguist, he was also a leading orientalist of his time. He was educated at Leiden, where he was regent of the Walloon College during his later years. His Animadversiones in Veteris Testamenti is a critical and exegetical commentary on the books of the Old Testament. It was printed in Leiden by Bonaventure and Abraham Elzevir.
