Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Nach dem Tod der Mutter des Autors im Oktober 2005 fand dieser im Nachlass eine komplett erhaltene Sammlung von Briefen und Karten, geschrieben zwischen seinen Eltern im letzten Jahr des Zweiten Weltkrieges. Er war überrascht, denn erstmals erfuhr er etwas über das Leben seiner Eltern während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus und dem Kriegsende 1945. Über diese Zeit, deren Ausgang hinreichend bekannt ist, wurde in der Familie nie gesprochen. Dieser Teil von Erlebtem war (offenbar gleichermaßen in Ost- wie Westdeutschland) lange Zeit und ist teilweise noch bis heute ein absolutes Tabuthema für eine Generation, die mit der Machtergreifung des Nationalsozialismus in Deutschland groß geworden ist. Der Inhalt der Briefe bezieht sich auf Deutschland und die Ostfront im letzten Jahr des Zweiten Weltkrieges und reicht von Juli 1944 bis April 1945. Es handelt sich um eine Dokumentation des Alltagslebens zweier Deutscher im Krieg. Mit der Lektüre von 75 Briefen und Karten aus den Jahren 1944/45 wird der Leser Zeuge einer Liebesbeziehung zwischen einem deutschen Frontsoldaten und einer gutbürgerlich aufgewachsenen Berlinerin mit all ihren Nöten, Hoffnungen, Wünschen und Verzweiflungen.
