We are all far from being content about the thoughts expressed by Jung about the animus. Jung approaches the problem from a masculine point of view-understandably-and is influenced-again understandably-by the "Zeitgeist," I mean by the time in which he lived and was brought up, in the beginning of this century. By now with the anima some acceptance has been offered as a creative and constructive potentiality within men. Nevertheless she is partly regarded as a "mysterious other" which can hardly be fully integrated by a man. With the animus it is different. Every time that he becomes a strong force in a woman's personality, he gets a bad name.
