Zustand: Very good overall. Early Civil War address on preserving the Union, by the soon to be elected New York State Attorney General, Daniel S. Dickinson (1800 -1866), an outstanding orator who traveled widely throughout New England and the Middle States delivering speeches on this topic. It was Dickinson who gave one of the rallying speeches immediately after the fall of Fort Sumter at Union Square in New York, in April of 1861 to enormous crowds which stretched from Broadway and 14th Street all the way down to the Battery. 8vo, 24pp. Publisher's advertisements, Prospectus for the Household edition of the Works of Charles Dickens, inside of both wrappers as well as the rear titled "War Publications".
