Nuovi contributi interpretativi, provenienti da studi sull'innovazione tecnologica, sulle telecomunicazioni, sull'organizzazione delle imprese trans-nazionali, sull'articolazione dei soggetti sociali e sulle mutate modalità d'uso e fruizione del territorio, possono utilmente integrarsi nel tentativo di consolidare le basi teoriche e fornire conseguenti indicazioni di politica territoriale. In particolare l'ipotesi reticolare, che prefigura reti collaborative di centri urbani specializzati e interagenti, si presenta come il più importante spunto teorico recente, che apre una nuova dimensione interpretativa dei fenomeni urbani e consente di pensare il territorio come sistema autoregolato. Di qui l'iniziativa del recente convegno Aisre - i cui atti sono raccolti in questo volume - che ha visto un intenso scambio di idee e di esperienze tra geografi, economisti, urbanisti e sociologi allo scopo di riaccendere l'interesse per il fenomeno urbano a larga scala e valutare la capacità esplicativa del paradigma reticolare e le potenzialità in esso insite per l'innovazione delle politiche territoriali. But unlike other markets, the housing market is able to profoundly transform the socioeconomic structure and the image of a city. Very often, changes in urban space are the result of the imperceptible operation of a multitude of micro-transformations which act with such great energy and decisiveness that they can transform the ¿DNA¿ of entire urban neighborhoods. These qualitative novelties, unpredictable and non-deducible on the basis of the previous properties, are defined emergences. Namely emergence means a ¿pattern formation¿ characterized by a self-organizing process driven by non-linear dynamics. This book explores housing market emergence in light of three different phenomena: search for housing, social polarization, and gentrification. The book is divided into two parts.
