The audience is usually defined by the ideology of the association and usually consists of a specific social or economic category such as consumers, partners engaged in a particular occupation or trade, persons sharing a specific ideology or interest, refugees, ethnic minorities, the poor, those affected by a specific disaster etc. Every association has a particular type of leadership consisting of those who have controlling power over the association. The leadership has the function of articulating the problem or interest around which the association is formed and the need to resolve the problem or organise the activities in a particular way and relate the activities to the philosophy of the association. Every type of association also obtains authority for its functioning. Different types of associations obtain their legal authority in a variety of ways that are reflected in the different possibilities that exist in any society for the registration of voluntary associations. Authority provides protection and certain kinds of concessions, usually of a financial and legal nature. Obtaining authority to function also means that voluntary associations commit themselves to specific obligations in matters relating to staff, finances etc. .…
