The hand-coloured maps cover every continent, showing Australia labelled as New Holland, the United States one year after the admission of Louisiana into the union, and most European countries in detail. Provenance: Stephen C. Ma…ssey. 3 works, duodecimo (132 x 84 mm). With 2 hand-coloured engraved map frontispieces, plate, and 19 maps (all folding), tables in text. Near-contemporary dark blue straight-grain morocco, spines gilt-lettered direct, flat gilt bands, boards with gilt fillet border, board edges and turn-ins tooled in gilt, marbled or brown surface-paper endpapers, edges gilt, blue silk bookmarkers in 2 works. Signature of one Charles Dungannon to title page of 1802 work. Boards a little marked, contents clean, single map a little skinned, others bright: a very good collection.
