Brossura editoriale illustrata con legatura in spirale plastica. Conservata la rara custodia in cartone decorata da un interessante lettering. Edizione originale di questo importante album - souvenir realizzato per l'esposizione universale di New York. Svoltasi tra il 1939 e il 1940 nell'area del Flushing  Meadows - Corona Park nel Queens, ebbe come tema "Il mondo di domani" , fu visitata da 45 milioni di persone. e venne inaugurata dal Presidente Roosevelt. Dopo quattro mesi dall'inaugurazione scoppiò la guerra in Europa ma, nonostante questo, la mostra fu prorogata per una seconda stagione nel 1940, durante la quale molti padiglioni e spettacoli furono rimossi e l'esposizione acquisì un carattere più popolare.  Di rilievo il graphic design modernista della pubblicazione realizzato da Donald Deskey  che in questa occasione progettò anche molti allestimenti, arredi, espositori e che, proprio nel 1940,  fondò un suo studio di progettazione grafica. Suddiviso in dieci capitoli, ognuno dedicato a un settore (Amusements, Communications, Community interests, food ecc. )  si caratterizza per una sequenza di tavole in fotomontaggio, particolarmente esasperate sui mezzi fogli a colori collocati a suddividere i diversi capitoli e con il forte intento di illustrare le molte costruzioni appositamente realizzate per l'occasione.  . The first book in a series about art in Hungary, basically a Monograph ( the first?) on the work of the architects Viktor and Aladar Olgyay. Inscribed with both names to the designer Donald Deskey in 1946 at the top of the front free endpaper.
