Edited by Anatole Desachy, the publication offers a chronological overview of 84 photo books presented in 600 illustrations. Bibliographic notes and descriptive texts convey a clear picture of the thematic and aesthetic diversity of the photo books published by the "Guilde du Livre", including well-known works of photographic art by Robert Doisneau, Izis, Paul Strand and Gotthard Schuh.
