Sprache: Französisch, Mit 25 getönten Lithographien von Isidore Laurent Deroy - jeweils ca. 8,5-8,6 x 13 cm Abbildungsgröße (Querformat), darunter die Bezeichnung der jeweiligen Ansicht (Blattgröße jeweils ca. 10,5 x 14,3-14,5 cm - Gesamtbreite ca. 360 cm). Einband leicht berieben und bestoßen; Innendeckelbezüge (Spiegel) leimschattig und Papierbezug an den Innengelenken angeplatzt; etwas stockfleckig - insgesamt sehr gut erhalten. Der Name des Künstlers wird am Rand der ersten Ansicht, im Bereich der Befestigung des Leporellos am vorderen Innendeckel genannt - diese Angabe teilweise durch den Papierbezug des Innendeckels überdeckt.

Taken from north of the city, it features a group of people including musicians seated on the grass in the foreground. Around the time of this painting, Malabar Hill had become the the new residential precinct of the Bombay governors. The city's history dates back tothe advent of the Silhara kings who ruled the Bombay islands (810-1260 AD), and built the original temples of Walkeshwar. At the south-eastern tip of the peninsula, they found, at what is now Malabar point, a strangely cleft rock, which they named, Shri-gundi, or "lucky stone". On the plains, known as Girguam, between Dongri hill and the higher hill (Malabar hill) were forests of barrack and plantain.
