It is shown that all zero-mass representations may be obtained from contracting either real mass or imaginary mass representations, but that it is more reasonable to associate the representations describing zero-mass particles with infinite angular momentum with contractions of the imaginary mass representations. / Robinson was a British physicist who spent most of his career at the Australian National University. He was former president of the Australian Mathematical Society. "Although Irish background, Derek grew up in Southern England. He was working in Switzerland, Germany, France and the USA. Further, the text goes beyond the classical homogenization theory by converting an analytical problem into an algebraic one.This work is aimed at graduate students as well as researchers in the above areas.
