Text volume in contemporary quarter calf and marbled boards, rebacked, atlas in original cloth recased with new end-papers, spine relaid, scattered foxing, else both very good copies. *Soemmerring's work is found here in its first French edition. The complete work comprises vols.1-3 text, in octavo, with the first volume describing clinical details and including the first description of glaucoma in which the importance of heightened intraocular pressure is recognized. Vols. 2 and 3 give hundreds of case histories culled from both Demours the Elder and his son's practices.
