Edition originale de ce volume des Annales de dermatologie, renfermant la description de la papulose atrophiante maligne à laquelle Degos laissa son nom. THE ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION OF DEGOS' DISEASE (MALIGNANT ATROPHIC PAPULOSIS). L'observation rapportée par Degos et al. occupe les pages 148-150 de ce volume. Les auteurs ont ajouté un Epilogue (p. 281) à la suite du décès du patient. Ils décrivent une affection maligne associant une symptomatologie cutanée révélatrice et une atteinte gastro-intestinale, avec des lésions histologiques identiques. Ces articles ne sont pas illustrés mais on joint une coupure de presse représentant une reproduction photographique des lésions cutanées thoraciques du patient. A noter que Degos réalisa un moulage en cire de ces lésions. Cette affection très rare avait été rapportée en 1941 par Köhlmeier, anatomo-pathologiste à Vienne, mais de façon moins précise et sans réelle confrontation anatomo-clinique. C'est Robert Degos qui l'a reconnue comme une entité clinique. Robert Degos (1904-1987), chef de clinique de Gougerot, devint médecin des hôpitaux de Paris, agrégé de dermatologie, puis titulaire de la chaire des maladies cutanées et syphilitiques. Il fut l'un des plus grands dermatologues de son époque.
