Internally pages and plates show a light crease in the lower right corner, about a dozen pages have paper-tape repairs, repai…rs on all but a couple on the blank side and nowhere touching any images, some plates show offsetting, all defects are represented in the photos. Small ink stamp on title page of Richard I. Johnson, who worked many years as an associate in malacology at Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology. Delessert was primarily a botanist. He acquired Lamarck's specimens from the Massena collection for his own cabinet, and gave the work of putting the publication together ("mis en ouvrage") to Chenu. The descriptions are by Lamarck. According to Internet sources, the artist Jean-Gabriel Prêtre (1768-1849) did most of the shells, a few were by René Ménard (1827-1887).
