In den WarenkorbTabloid. Zustand: Good. Side folding tabloid newspaper. 32 pp. Black and white illustrations and comix throughout. East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an…early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb (not in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with a lengthy interview with Black Panther Party leader Bobby Seale, in which he discusses issues with Stokely Carmichael, the ideology of the Black Panthers especially in relation to Marxism, etc. A lengthy article by Abbie Hoffman "Fuck the Vanguard, Power to the People," etc. Usual movement, music, drug and counterculture musings, etc., present. With several comix by Kim Deitch. GOOD condition. Haphazard horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning and dark scuffing, perhaps ink residue from printing. A few small tears and creases along the fore edge. A few faint spots of staining. Mailing label on the upper front cover.
