History of the National Sporting Club and its predecessor, the Pelican. First edition. 8vo. 223pp. Dust-wrapper, heavily rubbed with large areas of loss, particularly to corner areas. Internally very good. On the fly-leaf is a gift presentation from the boxing journalist Steve Fagan to Frank Duffett. Frank Duffett was one of Britain`s greatest boxing trainers. He was born and lived all his life in the Camberwell area of London and worked with many British champions, including Jack Doyle, Len Harvey, Freddie Mills and Billy Walker. Duffett produced his own British title holders in John and Pat McCormack and Paddy McGuire and also worked closely with European heavyweight champion Dick Richardson. Frank Duffett died in 1993 aged 81.
