Half-title printed in gold, title printed in gold, red and blue; 84 pp. text within abundant decorative borders printed in blue, brown, green and red. Intial capitals nicely decorated woodcuts. And 4 pp. 'Explanation des Planches'. With 25 plates: 20 chromolithographs with ornamental details of interior and stained glass from the newly restored chapel and 5 large engraved plates, views and plans, on mounted India paper (with 1 brown spot) by Gullaume. - The plates printed on thick paper (age-toned and loose in binding, therefore outer margins plates frayed). - Lithographs in vivid colours and gold executed by Lemercier after designs by employees of Imprimerie Lithographique et Taille-Douce de Charles Cotteret. - With the technique of chromolithography in this edition the true rendering of the colours is amazing. - First edition 2000g.
