While the front cover states "27th Edition," we believe this is intended to mean the 27th edition of *The Cotton Club Parade*, an ongoing musical revue written for and performed at The Cotton Club in New York. The Cotton Club was a whites only establishment that served liquor during the Prohibition era and showcased black entertainment intended for wealthy white audiences. Sometimes the revue was denoted by the year as on the back cover, which features short samples of four songs from the 1937 edition of *The Cotton Club Parade*, "Copper Colored Gal," "Doin' The Suzi-Q," "I'm at the Mercy of Love," and "That's What You Mean to Me." All four songs share a copyright date and authorship with "Alabama Barbecue" but it remains unclear if this song shared a bill with the others. *OCLC* locates seven holdings.
