In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Very Good. L. Marion Davidson; E. Terschak; L. Price; et al. (illustrator). First edition. A review copy of this fascinating work on the Dolomites, previously owned by the Rev. Henry William Gordon Kenrick. A review copy of this uncommon work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding, with a blind stamp stating "Review Copy with John Lane's Compliments" to the title page. Bookplate of the Rev. Henry William Gordon Kenrick, one of the largest individual collectors of British plants to be represented in the Hull University Herbarium, with 676 specimens covering the period 1889 to 1939. He also made a collection of plants from the Nilgiris in 1886-7, which is now held in the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. An engaging work on the mountains and mountaineering routes of the Dolomites by L. Marion Davidson, introduced by the politician and climber Sir Melvill Beachcroft, with a chapter on the flora which can be found in this area by F. M. Spencer Thomson. Illustrated with the author and many others. With a folding map and a sixteen-page hotel guide to the rear. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with shelf wear to the extremities and the spine, and fading to the spine and rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the occasional spot and offsetting to the end papers. Occasional pencil markings, presumably notes for a review, as this is a review copy. Very Good. book.
