Section 4 examines self-regulation in atypical development and evidence-based treatment approaches in children with ADHD, autism, and Down syndrome. Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich anhand eines thematischen Aufbaus mit der Verbindung von Forschungsanalyse und Quellenkritik. Insbesondere wird hierbei Bezug auf Uta Heil und ihre Forschung über den Bischof Avitus von Vienne und seinem berühmten Brief an Chlodwig mit der Beglückwünschung zu seiner Entscheidung, sich katholisch taufen zu lassen, genommen.Auch die Analysen von Ian Wood und Friedrich Prinz über Gregor von Tours und ihren Vermutungen, Chlodwig habe mit dem Gedanken gespielt sich dem Arianismus bzw. dem Quasiarismus zuzuwenden werden aufgegriffen. Des Weiteren fließt die quellenkritische Studie Wolframs Von den Steinen mit ein, die sich sowohl mit Gregor von Tours als auch mit Avitus von Vienne auseinandersetzt. Matthias Bechers Monographie über Chlodwig I. vertieft die Taufe Chlodwigs und geht hierbei auf die Rolle Chrodechildes, des Bischofs Remigius von Reims, den heiligen Martin von Tours, die zeitgenössische Reaktion und auf Avitus von Vienne, sowie die Auswirkungen der Taufe ein. Auch sein Aufsatz über die Taufe spielt eine große Rolle dieser Ausarbeitung, denn er nimmt starken Bezug auf Gregor von Tours in Hinsicht auf Bibliographie und Quellenkritik. Er analysiert den Quellenwert von Gregors Schriften und nimmt Bezug auf die aktuelle Forschung. Die politischen Handlungen und Strukturen der Merowinger werden von Eugen Ewig sehr gut und prägnant wiedergegeben.Die Grundlage dieser Arbeit bildet Patrick Gearys Werk 'Die Merowinger. Europa vor Karl dem Großen', welches einen guten Einblick über die Regierungszeit von Chlodwig gewährt und ebenfalls Bezug zum aktuellen Forschungsstand nimmt. Auch Gearys Aufsatz über die Bedeutung von Religion und Bekehrung im frühen Mittelalter spielt eine wichtige Rolle und soll in dieser Ausarbeitung den Einstieg in die Thematik erleichtern, welche in zwei Felder unterteilt ist. Auf der einen Seite steht die Legitimation des Titels Chlodwig als christlicher Herrscher und auf der anderen dessen Kritik.
