The second edition of Vilna Rabbi Avraham Danzig's (1748-1820) work on Jewish law in the Holy Land. Here published in Jerusalem, from one of the earliest Hebrew printing houses during the Old Yeshuv. Rabbi Danzig was and acclaimed posek (legal arbiter) and this work specifically focuses on the requirments of Jewish law for those living in the Holy Land. It is the continuation of Danzig's vision of Jews retrurning to the land of Israel, found in his previous and most famous work, Chayei Adam (Vilna, 1810). This edition was prepared and edited by Yehoshua ben David Yelin (1843-1924) a prominent member of the Palestine's Jewish community during the late Ottoman period, and was the first edition of the work published in Palestine, following the first edition (Vilna, 1812). The work was popular and quite useful for Jews in the holy land and went through numerous subsequent editions, due to its utility. Text throughout in Hebrew, printed in Rashi script, in single and dual-column formats. Binding with with some light bumping and rubbing to extremities. Vertical crease on the front cover. Small orange sticker on the interior front cover. Sporadic minor stains or smudges to a few pages throughout. A few ocassional small closed tears and/or creases to pages.
