Photograph of the mythical workshop of Manuel Compañy (Orusco, 1858-Madrid, January 13, 1909) - or simply Compañy - He was one of the most popular and recognized portraitist photographers in the country. He developed his work mainly in the city of Madrid and for him worked important photographers of the early twentieth century as José L. Demaría López «Campúa», Alfonso Sánchez García, "Alfonso", Eduardo Rodríguez Cabezas Dubois. He opened his first studio around 1880; The headquarters of his studies were: Calle Fuencarral 29 and Calle de La Visitación 1, in addition to the Greco Gallery in Alcalá 29. Around 1897 and 1898 he set up a studio in Toledo. He was a reporter in the Margallo War, which gave him more exposure in the press. He also collaborated with the magazine Blanco y Negro. Daniel Granada and Conti (Vigo, Spain, September 3, 1847 - Madrid, December 3, 1929) was a Spanish writer, linguist and anthropologist based in Uruguay from an early age. He arrived in Uruguay with his parents from Vigo when he was very young, in Montevideo he attended his Baccalaureate studies and graduated in Law in 1870. He served as Prosecutor of the University Council (1868-73), was a professor of literature at the Athenaeum of Montevideo (1877) and interim professor of People's Law at the University (1884) .1 He was appointed as a Commercial Law Judge on May 31, 1873.2 In the mid-1880-90 he settled in Salto, where he remained for more than fifteen years, dedicated to his profession of lawyer and journalism. From there he wrote the two editions (1889 and 1890) of the book Rioplatense reasoned vocabulary and his fundamental work Historical-descriptive review of ancient and modern superstitions of the Río de la Plata published in 1896.
