Ouvrage illustré d'un tableau dépliant hors-texte en fin de volume. Reliure en demi chagrin cerise, dos à cinq nerfs sertis de pointillés dorés et orné de triples caissons dorés, frottements sur le dos, plats de papier marbré, gardes et contreplats de papier à la cuve, tranches mouchetées, ex-libris encollé sur un contreplat, reliure de l'époque. Provenance : Exemplaire de Charles Cousin-Montauban (1796-1878), alors général de brigade commandant la subdivision de Mostaganem, avec vignette ex-libris héraldique contrecollée sur un contreplat. Quelques rousseurs. | [ENGLISH DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS] First edition of the most significant contribution by Pinson de Ménerville (18081876) to the understanding of the legal framework specific to Algeria under French rule.It was soon followed by several supplements, later integrated into the definitive 1872 edition (in three volumes).
