In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. A bright green, cloth bound, hardback book, with gilt titles on the spine. No dust jacket. This wonderful book is in really good condition and as its a used book, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. No specific published date listed, therefore i have taken the date from the foreword by the Brig-General from the Cavalry Club 8th Sept 1942. Also noted was the "8th thousand" from the title page. The page prior/next to title page has two photographed horses head (Rich Gift & Mahmoud) and below is a facsimile signature by the prolific horse artist Alfred J. Munnings. 212 pages all intact, and nice tight binding. Inside are several newspaper cutting of famous, huntsman, show jumping and jockeys. In my own humble opinion this is a very underrated and under valued book that deserves to be preserved for future generations and beyond.

First edition. 197pp., 8 diagrams and maps, 2 drawings, 3 water colour drawings (in black and white), 12 photographs, and a large folding map at the end of the book. The 135th Siege Battery was a heavy howitzer unit of Britain's Royal Garrison Artillery (RGA) raised during World War I. It saw active service on the Western Front at the Somme and Arras, against the German spring offensive, and in the final Allied Hundred Days Offensive. It was formed at Tynemouth in Northumberland under Army Council Instruction 996 of 13 May 1916, and the gunners were drawn from Nos 12 and 47 Companies, RGA, which manned coast artillery in the Tynemouth Garrison (66 from No 12 Co and 44 from No 47). This history of the Battery also contains 7 appendices, including a Roll of Honour. The book is bound in the original blue cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear to the boards and a few small and faint marks on the front board. The spine ends are bumped and the titling on the spine is worn. The contents are tight and clean with browning and foxing to the endpapers and a brief gift inscription on the front free endpaper.
