Vol. I, No. 1, March 26, 1831 Vol. II, No. 7, May 5, 1832 [i.e., the first 48 issues] and Vol II, No. 9, May 10, 1832; the run also includes a broadside extra "Supplement, August 20, 1831," printing documents intended to allay fears on the part of readers of a circular included in an earlier issue, "arising from the conviction that the circular may have conveyed to the public mind erroneous and hurtful impressions," regarding the posthumous publication of the works of Bishop John H. Hobart (1775-1830), the third Episcopal Bishop of New York. Weekly discussions of church principles and the ministry, biographical sketches of church leaders and members, essays, church news, devotionals and Biblical criticism, etc. Well represented on OCLC, but we note many fewer that include runs of the early issues. First leaf of the first issue almost detached, some scattered foxing and storage soiling, old light tidelines, but very good.
