Text blocks have speckled edges; light dust soiling to top edges and age-toning throughout; "Wounds" volume has two small dampstains to top edge, which extend slightly into the upper margins of the leaves below; "The Antiseptic Method of Treating Wounds" volume has a small open tear to fore edge of first page and a small dampstain to bottom right corner of text block; all volumes have age-toning, light penciling, and light scuffing to leaves. Shelved in Room A octavo overflow. This custom-bound thematic set documents the growing understanding of antiseptic theory and wound care in the mid-to-late 19th century.
