A unique collection of wonderful Victorian art in the Artists Original Drawing Album, oblong octavo album, containing over 90 pages of fine watercolours executed over a 30 year period (1869-1899). The majority of which are identified buildings, manor houses, churches, farms, town halls, hospitals etc. Pen and Ink drawings finished with watercolours stunning perspective. Many of the drawings also show people, carriages, gardens, farmland and most are captioned giving details of the location, architect and owner of the property. There are also two skillful caricatures. Bound in full contemporary maroon morocco, bookseller label to fpd, childs name to verso fep (Anne Gallacher - with 1 drawing by her?). The quality of each work is outstanding probably due to his training as an architect. 9202*155 mm). Ms notes states that Croft was an Architect, of 7 Cook St, Liverpool.
