Zustand: very good. Traduction de l'italien par Caroline Viola. Turnhout : Brepols, 1994. Paperback. A. Sources écrités. D : Sources scientifiques. Fasc. 69). French text. - Les consilia médicaux explores a pivotal form of medieval medical writing - physicians' written opinions on specific cases, typically requested by nobles or clergy. Emerging in 13th-century Italy, consilia reflected the professionalization of medicine and the growing authority of university-trained doctors. These documents combined empirical observation, scholastic reasoning, and references to classical authorities like Galen and Avicenna. Agrimi and Crisciani analyze their structure, function, and dissemination, emphasizing their value as both scientific and social sources. They reveal how consilia illuminate medieval conceptions of disease, doctor-patient relations, and the intersection of knowledge, power, and healing. This fascicle offers historians of medicine and science a framework to interpret these texts as key artifacts of learned medical culture in the later Middle Ages. Condition : very good copy. ISBN 9782503360690. Keywords : MEDIEVAL STUDIES, history of medicine.…
