Von den meisten Kritikern zerrissen, von vielen Zuschauern nicht verstanden, von selbsternannten Kritikern auf Blogs und Filmseiten als schlechtester Film des Jahres bezeichnet und von wenigen umso mehr in den Himmel gelobt. Was kann man von so einem Film erwarten Wie geht man an so einen Film heran Lohnt es sich ihn zum Thema einer Hausarbeit zu machen Aber wie Francois Truffaut schon sagte: 'Wenn Sie nicht sehen, worin das Geniale von SUCKER PUNCH besteht, dann haben Sie und ich nicht dieselbe Vorstellung vom Kino, wobei meine selbstverständlich die richtige ist.' Die Trailer versprachen ein imposantes Actionfeuerwerk indem sich leichtbekleidete Mädchen durch unterschiedliche Welten kämpfen. Ich habe den Film nicht im Kino gesehen sondern in der Extendet Cut Version auf Blu-Ray in unserem Heimkino und ich hatte nicht sehr große Erwartungen in Bezug auf eine tiefgründige Storyline. Vielleicht lag es genau an daran, dass mich SUCKER PUNCH sofort vereinnahmt hat und ich mich unbedingt weitergehend mit dieser ersten Verfilmung eines Zack Snyder Drehbuchs befassen wollte. Ich war frei von hohen Ansprüchen an die Narration, wollte mich nur den fantasievollen Bildern hingeben und dann traf mich der Film mit einer Wucht die ich nicht für möglich gehalten habe.In meiner Hausarbeit möchte ich SUCKER PUNCH unter feministischen Gesichtspunkten betrachten und schließlich die Frage meines Titels klären: Ist SUCKER PUNCH ein feministisches Rache Epos oder ein Potpourri aus Geek-Fantasien Dazu werde ich zunächst die Grundlage schaffen durch eine Beschreibung des Films und das Erläutern der feministischen Theorie nach Laura Mulvey, der Montagetheorie nach Sergej Eisenstein und der Thematik der Immersion. Danach versuche ich die Aspekte der Theorien an SUCKER PUNCH nachzuweisen. Weil ich persönlich danach immer noch das Verlangen hatte, ein paar ungeklärte Fragen zu klären, werde ich ein paar Thesen diskutieren.
