Laid in, publisher's printed insert "This Limited Edition book has been autographed for our customer by the artist. Thank you for your order," hand-numbered (31/50) and annotated "Female." "With" by Ken Ohara features a photographic series of one-hour exposure portraits which challenges the concept of traditional portrait appearances and evaluative processes. Through the 133 duotone portraits contained in this book, identity is fuzzed and lost, context boundaries are blurred, and observers are pushed into forming new frames of reference and new points for creating impressions of identity. The soft outlines of heads and bodies take on a new power in their loss of detail, and we look to the objects that frame each sitter to give us a context for identity. This copy is from an edition of 50, laid into a clamshell box, with a choice from two original prints (either Male or Female) numbered and signed by the artist. The original photograph is from the Female series, and is the forty-seventh portrait featured in the book (8:28pm - 9:28pm).
