First revised edition (originally published 1933). Staple-bound pamphlet; printed card wrappers; 96pp. Trivial external soiling; hint of aging to text, still Near Fine. One of several printings of Olgin's strident "Third Period" polemic, first published in 1933.This version presumably issued to coincide with the 1934 midterm elections. Olgin, editor of the Yiddish communist daily Freiheit, characterizes the New Deal as thinly-disguised fascism and calls for the immediate overthrow of Capitalism by any means necesssary. First Edition. Slim octavo (19.75cm); pictorial card wrappers, stapled; 24pp. Light wear to extremities, else Near Fine. "A communist author sees gangsterism and corruption as necessary concomitants of the capitalist system. Truman's political career is built on this morass, and the stench of corruption is nowhere greater than on Capitol Hill. The world's biggest racket today is the Korean "police action," where American Big Business is making super-profits. The author calls for socialism, independent political action, and a new political alignment for peace in 1952" (SEIDMAN H256).

Toning to extremities, a few tiny nicks and tears along the edges, with a brief pencil notation at upper left and lower right corners; Very Good+. "The proposal for compulsory military training is a declaration of war against the American people - against their living standards and democratic rights. This is the identical system Hitler forced upon the youth of Germany.COMPULSORY ARMY TRAINING FOR AMERICAN YOUTH IS THE FIRST STEP TO PUT INTO EFFECT THE M-PLAN - WALL STREET'S BLUE PRINT FOR FASCISM." The broadside concludes by encouraging young people to wire or write the White House and ask FDR to stop the conscription of American youth. Not separately listed in OCLC. 87350.

"Tijuana Bible," ca. 3" x 4", stapled, illustrated card wrappers; 8pp. Near Fine. Pornographic miniature comic book parodying long-time Communist Party leader Earl Browder, who served as General Secretary of the CPUSA from 1930-1945. Undated, but this has the look of a ca. 1950's reissue. Still, one of very few opportunities we get to combine the subject headings "CPUSA" and "EROTICA," and one of the less often encountered Eight Pagers featuring historical figures.

First Edition. Corner-stapled mimeographed typescript, 36cm x 22cm; 6pp (printed recto-only). Toning, corner creases and general wear; still a complete, Good or better example. Dated from text. Rather remarkable Popular Front document, prepared by Manuilsky as Deputy General Secretary of the Comintern and clearly oriented toward American Party members, as the majority of the text deals with the resurgent economic crisis in the U.S. Though the title of the paper might suggest a style sheet or compositional outline, the document in fact is a list of rather explicit instructions to American Party members on how to interpret contemporary world events in the light of current Soviet doctrine, the general upshot being that the American economic crisis, the rise of European fascism, revolution in China and the increasing militancy of the Japanese are all symptoms of the collapse of capitalism and the ". growing resistance of the working class and the toiling masses against the onslaught of the fascist powers!" Evidence of Moscow's direct influence on the CPUSA during this period is hardly necessary to prove a point, but this document provides a neat example of precisely how that influence was directed and executed. Unrecorded in this format, though a similar document was published in Los Angeles in 1946 (per OCLC); this printing clearly much earlier based on text.

First Edition. Bifolium (28cm); photo-illustrated wrappers; [4]pp; illus. Mild handling and toning to extremities, a few tiny tears; Very Good+. Pamphlet produced during the trial in Federal Court of 12 members of the National Committee of the Communist Party of the United States: William Z. Foster, Eugene Dennis, Henry Winston, John Williamson, Benjamin Davis, Bob Thompson, Gus Hall, Irving Potash, Jack Stachel, Carl Winter, John Gates, and Gil Green. The men were falsely accused of "conspiring to teach and advocate overthrow of the government by force" under the Smith Law. Contents draw attention to the plight of three men - John Gates (editor of The Daily Worker), Henry Winston (Secretary of the CPUSA), and Gus Hall (four-time presidential candidate and chairman of the CPUSA), who were jailed for refusing to be stoolpigeons for Judge Harold Medina. "Today, everyone.in this trial nows that naming a man as a Communist means that he will be persecuted. It means loss of his job, terrorizing of his family - in the South it may mean death!" Scarce; OCLC notes 2 holdings (Yale, Harvard).

Orange cloth boards, lettered in black; dustjacket; 256pp. Tight, Near Fine copy in a very bright, crisp dustwrapper - minutely chipped along bottom edge, else close to Fine and most uncommon thus. An entirely pro-Communist account of unionization in the ILGWU and the Furrier's Union, with the expected attacks upon the "reactionary" policies of the Socialist and AFL factions. Dale Zysman is identified in Bella Todd's autobiography as a Vice-President in the Teacher's Union, widely referred to as the "Stalin of the Union" for his habit of holding his pipe at precisely the same angle as appeared in Stalin's official portraits.
