The volume contains an account of int…ernational acts and legislation passed in the 19th and early 20th century to enable progress in forming the modern city. Included are studies on the extension and incorporation of suburbs, expropriation of land, compensation, sewerage systems, installation of gas and electricity, assessment of town accesses. The question of hygiene and its services, open spaces for health and leisure, cemeteries, transport, the importance of communication in rural communities and the role of public institutions are all considered. The author was 'Ingénieur des arts et manufactures, Architecte en chef honoraire du département du Pas-de-Calais', and previously architect for the towns of Abbeville and Arras, and of the Historic Monuments of France. Ownership signature of Carlos della Paolera (1890-1960), distinguished Argentinian town planner. In very good condition.
