Pour cette exposition, un appel à projets avait été lancé avec quatre séries de prix (1000, 2000, 4000 et 6000 francs) pour un total de 18 lauréats. L'organisation de l'Expo ne s'engageait nullement à réaliser les projets primés. Par contre, celle-ci se réservait le droit de glaner les idées des uns ou des autres, à sa convenance. Parmi les projets présentés dans la présente monographie, le projet de MM. Cassien, Bernard et Cousin reçut l'un des prix de 4000 francs. Quant aux trois autres projets, ils permettent de voir la grande diversité des styles envisagés : que penser par exemple de la monumentale tour de 200 mètres proposée par M. Chancel ?
