The author fished mainly for trout and salmon as far removed as Ceylon. Amazingly, he was married first to Jennie Jerome, widow of Randolph Churchill and mother of Winston Churchill, and then divorced her to marry "Mrs. Patrick Campbell" (Beatrice Tanner), muse of George Bernard Shaw.
