viii, 86pp, 56 half-tones, 5 bw fold-out line drawings. 26x19, white and blue boards with paste on labels. Top of spine pulled, some (acid?) damage to fep, light foxing, generally good copy. First trade printing (following a de luxe initial printing of 150 copies), based on a collection of Phyfe's work assembling for an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Phyfe was one of the most important furniture makers of the newly independent United States, selling his work to the fashionable families of New York in particular from his shop on Fulton Street.

Cloth. Zustand: Very Good +. First Edition. A handsome copy of the 1922 1st trade edition, following the edition of "150 de luxe copies". Solid and VG+ (very light offsetting at the endsheets) in a crisp, VG to VG+ example of the dark-green dustjacket, with mild darkening along the spine and the upper-edges, and several small closed tears --and mild creasing-- near the spine crown.
