The George Hoadley bookplate is believed to be that of the son of George Hoadly [1826-1902], who was a Democratic politician and the 36th Governor of Ohio. His son lived from 1858 to 1935. Eustace Conway, the son of American abolitionist minister Moncure Conway, was also from Ohio. The title story is edited from a 19th-century pamphlet found in Conway?s father's library. Also contains three essays by Conway. including an interesting one on Rabelais. Signed.
