paperback. Zustand: Good. Covers and book edges are age-toned and foxed, stapled binding, internally clean. First printing. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". 42 pages, illustrated in black and white, photos. The material contained in this volume is divided into three sections. The first is an historical account of the development of the Stage Road. The sec-ond section actually should be viewed as a travelogue, in that it provides a step-by-step (mile by mile) description of historical sights and interesting objects from the past. The third section, entitled, "Hiking the Old Stage Road," is inserted for the benefit of those who enjoy tramping through the kinnikinnic and columbine in the pursuit of remnants of an old road which remains unmarked and uncared for since the Short Line Railroad and later the Corley Mountain Highway took poetic privilege in bringing about some structural and geographic changes in the route. Your author sincerely hopes that the reader of this little volume will enjoy these excursions into the past and that this small area of the Pikes Peak region may take on a new and more meaningful character for those who wish to explore it.
