El combate contra el dualismo une a Nietzsche con el budismo, pero no con el de Buda sino aún más, con Eihei Dogen, maestro budista zen traído a nosotros desde el siglo XIII. Esa es la audaz propuesta que ilustra este libro. El juego de las afinidades electivas entre ambos, Nietzsche y Dogen, comenzará por la misma reivindicación de la impermanencia de todas las cosas en el devenir, se extenderá en la ausencia de temor, e incluso en la celebración ante el caos, y pasará por la destrucción del Yo en favor del Sí mismo. Finalmente, por donde mejor se expresa el paralelismo entre ambos caminos, el Despertar.
