L'autore (1808-1893) aveva sposato Julia, figlia di Clarisse Vigoreux, entrando in rapporti con Fourier e legandosi al movimento socialista-utopista dei falansteri. Costretto all'esilio dopo le manifestazioni del 1849 contro Napoleone III, Considerant emigrò in Texas ove partecipò alla costruzione del Falansterio La Reunion presso l'odierna Dallas. Rientrò in Francia con l'amnistia del 1869, e partecipò alle vicende della Comune parigina. Questo volume rientra nell'attività editoriale di proselitismo dispiegata dal movimento falangista del Fourier.
