Volume II of Buffon"s celebrated natural history, one of the most ambitious and influential attempts to survey the natural world produced during the Enlightenment. This expanded English edition contains sections devoted to birds, fishes, reptiles, insects, and exotic plants, incorporating later discoveries by prominent naturalists.
