The first edition was published by Cannon in 1848. There are details of the Boer War as well as notes on uniform, equipment and colours, together with 11 excellent coloured plates of uniforms and colours. 336pp., plates, ills., index. Some blemishes to cover, otherwise a very good copy.

Top edge gilt. xxii, 506 pages. Illustrated with 17 coloured plates, 28 plates and plans in monochrome, further illustrations and maps in the text. 8 x 10 inches. The book has foxing to the page edges, and the first and last few pages, and lacks tissue guards to the colour plates, Otherwise a very good copy. A heavy book which will require extra postage.
