It is very helpful for dating unknown microscopes by form, useful for collectors, dealers, and historians. This second edition contains an additional 32 pages of microscopes added to the collection since 1967. The many, many photographs, descriptions of each instrument (including dimensions) make this an essential reference for the collector, dealer, or historian.
