A tale of Collyns's pursuit of the wild red deer, a fascianting tale that communicates the obsession of a hunter. This edition is particularly attractive for featuring the illustrations of animal artist Edmund Caldwell, who captures both the sensitivity and majesty of the wild red deer. In the publisher's original brown cloth. Externally, the odd mark and scratch to boards, including an ink blot to front board. Slight rubbing to edges and joints, with a very faint split to cloth to tail of front joint. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities, heavier to rear board top extremities.
