Mugby Junction is a collection of short stories written in 1866 by Charles Dickens, Charles Collins, Amelia B. Edwards, Andrew Halliday, and Hesba Stretton. This collection was first published in a Christmas edition of the magazine All the Year Round, which was a weekly literary magazine owned by Charles Dickens. Dickens wrote the majority of this Christmas edition, while the collaborators each contributed an individual story. In contemporary paper wraps. Externally, bright and fairly smart, with just a little creasing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned but generally clean except for the occasional spot. Complete with the rare original dustwrapper which is lightly rubbed and nicked to the extremities but remains remarkably clean. All volumes are in very good condition, the bindings sound with a little rubbing to the extremities and uniform fading of the spines. The contents with the occasional foxing spot to the margins are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Quite scarce in this form. A very attractive set of the "extra Christmas stories", previously published in the Charles Dickens edited magazine "Household Words" and "All the Year Round", presented here in a similar size and format to Dickens' better known seasonal novellas which include A Christmas Carol.
