Excellent account of the Yeomanry Cavalry of Worcestershire, essentially during World War One. 1st Edition 1926. 251pp., 18 pages of illustrations, 14 maps, some pull outs, appendix including embarkation roll, awards, those killed and wounded. Usual slight colour change to spine and slight mark, internally very good with slight blemish to endpaper, neat bookplate of previous owner to endpaper. Overall close to very good.

A fine original colour lithograph from Vanity Fair, a magazine which was published from 1869-1914, featuring a large caricature portrait each week. These were drawn by various artists, the most famous of whom was Leslie Ward who used the 'nom de crayon' of "Spy". This portrait will come mounted/matted and ready to frame using archivist quality materials, mount size 18 x 12 inches, 47 x 31 cms. It will be presented in a cellophane wrapper with our label guaranteeing authenticity. We pack very well, between sheets of hardboard. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a portrait of Lord Cobham, with the caption "Cricket, Railways & Agriculture". Charles George Lyttelton, 8th Viscount Cobham (27 October 1842 - 9 June 1922), known as Lord Lyttelton from 1876 to 1889, was a British peer and Liberal Member of Parliament. He came from a notable cricketing family.

1st edition. Very good copy in the original gilt-blocked cloth. Slight suggestion only of dust-dulling to the spine bands and panel edges. Hinge starting. Zustand: Good/Very Good. xi, 251pp, illustrated with black & white plates, maps and folding maps, endpapers and edges have some foxing, also some foxing internally, pencil annotations to the margins of a few pages towards the rear, front free endpaper has ink signatures of a previous owners, book plate tpo front fixed endpaper, dark blue cloth, gilt spine lettering, spine sunned to a brown tone, upper board also part-sunned, spine ends a little crushed. Size: 10 x 7.5 Inches. Regimental.

(The first edition of this Report was printed in July 1901.).

Very handsomely bound in full tree calf gilt. raised bands to spines, gilt decorations to compartments, contrasting lettering pieces. Boards have gilt borders, stunningly marbled edges and endpapers. Spines lightly rubbed, patches worn from lower corners of boards. Slight browning to pages otherwise a clean and sound set in a very attractive binding.

Neben anderen namhaften Künstlern seien vor allem Sir Leslie Ward (London 1851 - 1922) und Carlo Pellegrini (Capua 1839 - London 1889) genannt, die unter dem Pseudonym "Spy"(Ward) und "Ape"(Pellegrini) Persönlichkeiten des öffentlichen Lebens karikierten.
